This is a collection of conceptual statements and production photos from my lighting design career. The shows range from my first college production The Laramie Project at the Department of Dramatic Arts, to my professional debut at the Berkshire Theatre Festival. The process of collaborating with groups of people on a production has always drawn me to lighting design. I enjoy experimenting and it is always a pleasure to adapt my way of thinking about lighting to suit the piece at hand. This is exhibited in the range of different lighting styles visible in the production photos. Herrman Hesse's Siddhartha is my favorite lighting design experience. The abstraction of the piece was challenging and I struggled to develop conceptual ideas to represent the piece. Luckily, I found some good metaphors and every time I revisit these production photos I recall how these ideas combined to elegantly present the story of Siddhartha.
